Mustang Project Horses
Our daughters were mentored by Stormy Ranch Mustang Training from 2021 to 2025 in gentling and training mustangs. The girls have competed with mustangs in Oregon High School Equestrian Teams, 4-H, and when possible, the Teens and Oregon Mustangs Challenge. Teens and Oregon Mustangs Challenge is an annual competition where a trainer applies for, and if selected, receives a wild mustang from the BLM. The trainer has 100 days to gentle and train their mustang before the competition where the horse will be auctioned, unless the trainer elects to keep their competition horse.

Molly is competing in the Youth In-Hand division. She elected to keep her project horse, and Barbie will reside on our ranch. Now we don't have to worry about NOT seeing her cute, blonde head and being able to say "Hey, Barbie!".

Marie competed in the Teen Riding division. She sold her amazing project horse, Mesa, at the 2023 Teens & Oregon Mustang Adoption Challenge auction. Mesa went on to train and work as a dressage horse in Tennessee with Mustang Leadership Partners
